How to Create a Substitute Plan

  1. Open the Substitute Plans assistant
  2. Enter the subject, grade level, and duration
  3. Describe what your class has been working on -- this helps generate activities that fit naturally into your current sequence
  4. Add any specific requirements (e.g., "no screen time", "must include a writing activity")
  5. Tap Generate
  6. Review the plan and adjust as needed
  7. Export and share with your substitute

Tips

  • Include routines -- Add notes about your classroom routines (how students line up, where supplies are, behaviour expectations) to the plan after generating
  • Keep it simple -- Substitute plans work best when activities are straightforward and self-contained
  • Export as PDF -- A printed copy is the most reliable format for a substitute to follow
