Workspace¶
The Workspace is your home screen in Mossie -- your virtual teaching desk. It gives you quick access to AI assistants, recent documents, reminders, and quick capture all in one place. The layout adapts to whichever device you are using.
Web Layout¶
On the web, the Workspace uses a left sidebar for navigation with the main content area on the right.
Sidebar Navigation¶
The sidebar is divided into two sections:
Learning Content
- Planning (lesson plans, unit plans)
- Assessments
- Activities (activity sheets, word searches, mind maps)
- Presentations
- Display Posters
- Content Library
Classroom Management
- Classroom (subjects and students)
- Reminders
- Newsletter
- Parent Comms
- Report Cards
- Custom Assistants
Settings appears at the bottom of the sidebar.
Main Content Area¶
The main area shows your Home screen by default:
- Quick Capture at the top
- AI assistants grid
- Recent documents
- Due reminders
Mobile Layout (Phone)¶
On iPhone and Android phones, the Workspace uses a 4-tab bottom navigation bar:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Home | Quick capture, AI assistants, recent documents, reminders |
| Lessons | Your lesson plans and unit plans |
| Classroom | Subjects, students, performance notes |
| More | Additional features and settings |
The More menu opens access to:
- Series (unit plans)
- Activity Sheets
- My School (Knowledge Base)
- Resources (Content Library)
- Workflows
- Settings
Tablet / iPad Layout¶
On iPad and Android tablets, the Workspace uses a persistent sidebar with 7 items:
- Home
- Lessons
- Series (Unit Plans)
- Activities
- Classroom
- Resources
- Workflows
Settings appears at the bottom of the sidebar.
Keyboard Shortcuts
On iPad, press Cmd+1 through Cmd+7 to switch between sidebar items instantly. See all shortcuts in the Keyboard Shortcuts reference.
The tablet layout takes advantage of the larger screen with split views -- you can see a list of documents on the left and the selected document on the right, for example.
Home Screen Content¶
Regardless of device, your Home screen includes these sections:
Quick Capture¶
A one-tap input area at the top of the Home screen for capturing thoughts in the moment.
- Voice: Tap the microphone, speak your observation, and Mossie transcribes it
- Text: Tap the text field and type a quick note
Quick Capture supports three types:
- Student Note -- An observation about a specific student
- Activity Log -- A record of a class activity or event
- General Note -- Anything else you want to capture
When you capture a voice note, Mossie automatically:
- Transcribes the recording
- Detects student names (matches against your Classroom roster)
- Detects subject references
- Links the note to the correct student and subject
Captures that happen during busy moments do not need to be perfect. Mossie processes them and produces structured notes you can review later.
Premium Feature
Voice Capture requires a Premium subscription. Text capture is available on all plans.
AI Assistants Grid¶
Your AI assistants appear as cards. Tap any card to open the assistant and start generating content. The grid shows your most-used assistants first, with a See all option to view all available assistants.
Recent Documents¶
Quick access to the documents you have been working on recently. Tap any document to open it for editing.
Due Reminders¶
Any reminders that are coming up or overdue appear here so you do not miss follow-ups.
Personalization¶
The Workspace adapts to your usage over time:
- Most-used assistants move to the front of the grid
- Recent documents stay accessible
- Quick Capture remembers your preferred input mode (voice or text)
