Google Workspace¶
Connect Mossie to Google for exporting documents and importing files.
What You Can Do¶
With Google Workspace connected, you can:
- Export to Google Docs -- Create formatted documents in your Google Drive
- Export to Google Slides -- Create presentation decks from your content
- Export to Google Forms -- Create quizzes and forms from assessments
- Import from Google Drive -- Bring files from your Drive into your Knowledge Base
Connecting Your Google Account¶
- Go to Settings then Connections
- Click Connect Google
- Sign in with your Google account
- Grant the requested permissions
Once connected, Google export and import options appear throughout Mossie.
What Permissions Mossie Requests¶
Mossie requests the minimum permissions needed:
- Create and edit Google Docs, Slides, and Forms in your account
- Per-file access to Drive for importing -- Mossie only sees files you explicitly select via the file picker. There is no broad access to your entire Drive.
Your existing files are private
Mossie cannot see or access any existing files in your Drive. It can only access files it creates (exports) and files you explicitly select for import using the file picker.
Using Google Export¶
First Time¶
- Open a document in Mossie
- Tap Export and choose a Google format (Docs, Slides, or Forms)
- If you have not connected Google yet, a sign-in prompt appears
- Grant permissions when asked
- The exported file opens automatically in a new tab
After First Time¶
- Tap Export and choose your format
- The file opens immediately in your Google Drive -- no sign-in needed
Importing Files from Google Drive¶
- Open your Knowledge Base
- Tap Import and select Google Drive
- A file picker appears showing your Drive files
- Select the files you want to import
- Mossie copies the selected files into your Knowledge Base for use with AI features
Per-file access
The file picker gives Mossie access only to the specific files you select -- nothing else in your Drive is visible to Mossie.
Disconnecting¶
To remove Mossie's access to your Google account:
- Go to Settings then Connections
- Click Disconnect Google
This removes Mossie's access. Previously exported documents remain in your Google Drive. You can also revoke access from Google's permissions page.
Troubleshooting¶
Google export options do not appear¶
- Check that Google is connected in Settings then Connections
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting your Google account
"Failed to export" error¶
- Check your internet connection
- Sign out and sign back in to Google
- Try again in a few minutes
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
"Access blocked" message¶
- During development, click "Advanced" then "Go to app (unsafe)"
- For production use, this should not appear
Popup blocked¶
- Allow popups for the Mossie site in your browser settings
